Art Show Fundraiser and Creative Refresh
Hello, friends!
For this newsletter we’re going to keep things short and focus primarily on two very exciting events we have coming up.
PIC x Roux Art Show Fundraiser
We’re super excited to be partnering with our friends at House of Commons for Roux, a unique food and beverage experience led by the women redefining it. Roux is bringing together the women-owned businesses for a week long party across Portland from October 11-17, 2024 and we’re partnering for two Art Show fundraising events:
Poster Show - On Sale Now!
Our 2024 Art Show Fundraiser Poster Show features limited-edition food-themed commissions from local artists Arielle Wilkins, Claire Gunville, Jax Ko, Rebecca Nguyen, and Yanely Rivas. Posters are $30 each and all proceeds from our poster sale directly benefit Portland in Color’s future programming.

10/12 - Live Art Show Fundraiser
This Saturday at Roux MRKT, we’ll be hosting a Live Art Show Fundraiser featuring art for sale and made in real time by local artists Margaret Alba, Jarlisa Shunte, Kavi, Emily Dasilva, and Alex Smyth!
Come see these artists do live demonstrations of their practice and take home a food-themed art piece while supporting our fundraising efforts.

12/27-29 Creative Refresh: A Retreat for BIPOC Artists
Now accepting applications for our very first PIC retreat, Creative Refresh: A Retreat for BIPOC Artists. This intimate 3-day experience, taking place from December 27 - December 29, 2024, at the beautiful Society Hotel in Bingen, WA, will offer an idyllic setting for us to connect, reflect, rest, and creative goal set for the year ahead.
The retreat includes:
✷ A two-night stay at the Society Hotel with private rooms and all meals included
✷ Creative goal setting and visioning to map out your creative path for 2025
✷ Yoga, sound bath, and meditation sessions to center your mind and body
✷ Individual portrait sessions to capture the weekend, with tips for taking great self-portraits
✷ A private bathhouse soaking sessions for Creative Refresh retreat attendees
✷ Plenty of free time to build community with fellow artists, decompress, rest, imagine, and wonder!

Full tuition is $1295-$1495. Scholarships are available.
We encourage everyone interested to apply, at any stage of their creative journey. We especially encourage those navigating burnout, seeking deeper connection with community, and/or yearning to reclaim rest as a part of their creative process to apply.
